Sr Manager Insolvency and Restructuring Corporate and some Consumer
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Conduct insolvency related consulting engagements on behalf of stakeholders
Assist with bankruptcy, restructuring and receivership files
Oversee insolvency files where the business remains in operation (including making decisions on a day-to-day basis)
Assist with taking possession and establishing necessary controls to ensure the proper administration of the file
Meet with employees, debtors, creditors, lawyers, lenders etc. as required
Assist with the realization and sale of the business or assets
Monitoring of operations
Complete appropriate forms and documentation as required
Administer monitoring engagements of businesses reorganizing pursuant to the BIA (Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act) or the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA)
Draft reports related to engagement requirements
Assist in practice development, such as attendance at trade fairs, help with proposals, research on the prospective work providers, promotional events, etc.
Learn to identify new work opportunities and communicate them to the partners
Attend firm-sponsored insolvency-related functions (socials, seminars, etc.)
Enrolment in the National Insolvency Qualification Program towards attaining a Trustee in Bankruptcy license
Qualifications and Competencies:
CA professional designation
CIRP professional designation
Corporate and Consumer experience
Previous insolvency experience
Ability to work independently and manage a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to establish relationships with staff and customers
Strong analytical, accounting and auditing skills
Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail
Able to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands and multiple tasks as required
Able to travel off-site as required
